At Burke Mountain Preschool, we strongly believe in teaching children kindness, care and compassion towards all, including those less fortunate than us. In past years, we have done food drives as well as sock/gloves/hat donations that we share with our local community. This year, we have changed our donations and instead are creating specially selected baskets of goodies that we will donate to our food bank. These will then be shared with those in our community that rely on the food bank consistently, providing them with something extra special this holiday season. Shortly after beginning this, one of our preschool children proudly brought the first donated basket, the contents which this child selected themselves. It was incredibly validating that the work we are doing in community awareness is being demonstrated in the actions of our school community!
